10 in 20 Producer Duane Lundy explained, “Musicians will perform their songs from 10 in 20, plus additional music in their catalogs. Several solo artists will be joined on stage by bandmates from other projects; these include Willie Eames with The Tallboys and Chris Dennison with Chico Fellini. We also have planned some exciting crossovers among 10 in 20 artists.”

Lundy and Executive Producer Jennifer Miller launched 10 in 20 in 2011 as a vehicle to support and collaborate with local artists, and to bring national attention to the depth and variety of musical talent in Central Kentucky. An example of this success is a May piece by indie taste-maker Paste Magazine, titled “10 Kentucky Bands You Should Listen to Now.” It included Matt Duncan, The Fanged Robot, and Oh My Me, plus referred to “the excellently produced Lexington-based recording series 10 in 20.” National media focused on country music have paid attention to our work with groups including Sunday Valley and Coralee and the Townies.

10 in 20 raised money for the vinyl production through crowdfunding website PledgeMusic. Five dozen of the audience members on November 10 will have pre-ordered their admission through PledgeMusic, at a discount from the door charge. Additionally, supporters who pre-ordered the vinyl album can pick up their copies at the show.  Starting Tuesday, November 13, the 10 in 20 album will be on sale at Lexington’s CD Central and the Morris book shop.

About 10 in 20: A Lexington Recording Project: Ten bands, twenty days, one place. Ten groups of established Lexington musicians each spent two days collaborating on an original track with producer Duane Lundy at Shangri-la Studios. An organic process affirms artists’ distinctive songwriting and musical roots, while painting a broader creative landscape. Monthly debuts of new songs built toward this vinyl album release. A portion of the proceeds will go to Central Music Academy which provides no-cost instrument lessons to children in downtown Lexington.

About Duane Lundy: Music producer and guitarist Duane Lundy has lived in Central Kentucky since coming here for college. The owner of Shangri-la Studios, he is best known for engineering and mixing critically acclaimed works by Americana groups and singer-songwriters from across the U.S. and Canada (including albums of Lexington-connected artists Vandaveer, Ben Sollee, These United States, Willie Breeding, Sunday Valley, and Chico Fellini). Hoping to collaborate with more local artists, Lundy conceived the idea for 10 in 20, produced all aspects of its music, co-produced visual elements, and played guitar and percussion on several tracks.

About Jennifer Miller: A Lexington attorney with degrees from Harvard College and Stanford Law School, Miller honed producing skills on national political campaigns, during two stints in The White House, and while practicing mass media law in DC. Miller serves 10 in 20 as Executive Producer, video editor, and graphic designer. Her other ongoing arts and cultural projects include the independent feature film “Hitting the Cycle” (Co-Producer), Chico Fellini (Executive Producer), Kentucky Heritage Council (board member), and March Madness Marching Band (Cruise Director).
